Unseen Footage, Solo Exhibition
AllDayBreakfast, Galleries, Bristol
Date: 2013
Installation of photography, assemblages and video.
My first solo exhibition portrays a fictional Western woman who marries a Korean solider, in the 1960s. Using my mother’s memories growing up in Korea during the war, paralleled with historical facts, I re-constructed her story from an unfamiliar perspective. Using my photographs, props and footage from an unfinished film, the collection suggests a narrative that encapsulates feelings of isolation and bewilderment adjusting to a foreign culture.
